Pilates for Everyone

Pilates unites the mind and body in a way that eases tension, reduces inflammation and promotes health and well being.

Pilates not only helps improve your body, but also helps with day to day activities.

Typically we all sit at our desks during the day and are using ‘gadgets’ which affects our posture. This activity also affects Tonic & Phasic Muscles. Tonic muscles tend to shorten in response to over use whereas phasic muscles tend to lengthen and weaken which can lead to musculoskeletal imbalance and joint instability.

Pilates will help you restore the balance and improve strength and flexibility and with regular practice correct posture and musculoskeletal imbalance and joint stability.

It is important to take a break from daily life in order to focus on yourself.

SUSAN PILATES SPECIALISES IN ONE TO ONE & TWO TO ONE PILATES SESSIONS

Pilates Instructor

Susan specialises in one to one and two to one pilates sessions at her studio in South Normanton or in the comfort of your own home in and around surrounding areas in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire.

Background

I started practising Pilates in 1996 after having a back issue which resulted in being diagnosed with degenerated discs. After a few years of practising I trained as a Pilates teacher with the Pilates foundation initially and then with Body Control Pilates.

I now have a studio set up at home where I teach my clients. I also offer Pilates in your own home as my studio is upstairs which may not be convenient for you.

Sessions

Sessions are varied and exercises tailored to what your body needs that day utilising the Pilates principles of breath, concentration, alignment, coordination, precision, flow, centring and control.

It is important to exercise with the correct breath, neutral pelvis and core stability which I will be able to work with you to achieve.

Reformer as a mat

Reformer as a mat

The reformer is a Rehab Reformer and is higher than most other Pilates reformers. At 22 inches (55cm) high it is easier to get on and off especially if experiencing any issues while exercising. It especially helps to do mat work exercises if you struggle to get on and off the floor.
